As of 4/27/17 Head tracking no longer works with the DJI drones. Video out still works though on the controller that does not have a tablet or phone attached to it.
Before you begin…
- Make sure your update your Avegant headset and your Inspire 1 are on the latest revision of software/firmware.
- Ensure that your Avegant headset and drone are fully charged.
You will need the following cables/ adapters:
- C2G Mini HDMI (M) to HDMI (F) Adapter ( Found on our Avegant.com store ) $14.99
Live Camera image on the Avegant headset: A straight connection via HDMI with adapter will work.
DJI’s Inspire 1 supports live image streaming through the HDMI. Copilot support is further enabled (and recommended) through a secondary radio.
Using an IOS Tablet: We have not been able to get this to work in our tests. We have heard reports of people making it work but there are so many hub accessories out there that it's impossible to test them all. We the few hubs we have here we were not able to get it to work.
Note: It will work however if you use two controllers using iOS devices.
Using an Android Tablet: We have seen mixed results in our testing. We have seen where some hubs kind of work and some just don't show a picture at all. We saw where some hubs gave you screen goes in and out. Results vary.
